Stopping the New Math Methods in grades after 3rd grade.

We as parents need speak our voice where our children's education is concerned. The SFUSD has placed New Methods of Math into the 4th and 5th grade curriculum as well as, the middle schools curriculum. We as parents must say enough is enough for these reasons: One, there are families who may not have finished school due to personal circumstances two, the child may be being raised by a grandparent or grandparents who are not of any age to try to learn new math methods when they know the basics steps,three the most important, it simply confuses the children.

These methods are: Lattice Multiplication, Partial-Product method, Partial-quotients method(Division), Trade-First Subtraction method.

I strongly suggest googling these methods so, you'll have a full understanding of what our children are learning which is confusing them from what they've learned from 1st-3rd grade.   

We as parents know and understand the basics and foundations of math so, why complicate the math system with unnecessary steps? These steps confuse our children and frankly I believe it's a setup for failure.
