In order to improve the administration, management and culture of our elementary school, we, the parents, grandparents, friends and students of Knolls Elementary School petition the Simi Valley Unified School District Superintendent and School Board to remove and replace Bonny Porter as principal of Knolls Elementary effective the end of the 2011-2012 school year.
We believe the current Principal does not serve parents, teachers, staff, or students in a responsive and reasonable manner. Parents, teachers & students are entitled to thoughtful, considerate and consistent resolution to concerns for students' physical, mental and emotional health, while ensuring the educational needs at school are met.
Specifically, she
* has not addressed matters of harrassment and bullying in a satisfactory manne
* has ignored the specific needs of individual students
* has failed to administrate the school in a consistent and responsive manner
* has failed to provide the leadership necessary to create a harmonious environment between parents, teachers and staff
* has failed to keep personal student and family matters confidential
* is unwilling to observe and address inapporpriate classroom behavior
* has cost the District millions in lost lawsuits specifically due to her mismanagement
Every attempt has been made to effect positive change within the system by communicating and working directly with Dr. Porter, however, we feel she has repeatedly failed to respond in a manner consistent with our expectations and has fallen short of her responsibilities to parents, teachers, staff and students. In addition, many complaints have been made to the District office, but to no avail.
We, as signed below are demanding the removal and replacement of Bonny Porter as School Principal.
