A teacher at Heritage Christian Academy in Rockwall, Tex. was fired for being pregnant and unmarried. The school's spokesperson says she violated a clause in her contract and was no longer a "proper Christian role model."
Even though she explained to administrators that the father is her fiance, to whom she would have already been married had not complications delayed the wedding, the school still refused to back down on its harsh judgment.
And, despite this decision causing her financial and health insurance problems as well as humiliation, the school refuses to admit their error. Her attorney says the school broke state and federal law. The school says the Supreme Court is on its side.
This is a clear violation of workers' and women's rights.
Tell Texas its modern day "Scarlet Letter" replay is absurd as well as un-Christian, and it should rehire the teacher or settle immediately.
