Governor Jerry Brown's proposed Budget for FY 12/13 has NO money for CA public libraries. This would be disastrous causing many libraries to close and lose vitally important programs such as educating literacy, helping the blind and other disabled, learning new computer and other skills, getting jobs (at the same time getting off the streets and staying out of prison), and so many more. The libraries are valuable assets to ALL, from babies to seniors, and not just in CA, but EVERYWHERE! PLEASE help us by signing this petition to help restore once again the $15.2 million that was taken away, and at the same time, enable the state to make its required match to receive federal funding.
