The Grim Reaper Day is all about showing students what happens when you drink and drive. Every 3-5 minutes, The Grim Reaper will pull a student out of class, dress them in a certain way or give them a sign, whatever we choose to do, and this person would will be considered "dead". They can't talk to anyone and can't be called on in class. By the end of the day, we will have between 50-70 students that were "killed" and would all be lined up for the students in the school to see how many people were killed in an alcohol related accident while they were at school. It would make a major impact on them and their lives.
But our Principle, John Atkinson, said no to The Grim Reaper day because, according to him, it will disrupt classes but there have already been things this year that have been way more disruptive and he okay'ed them (such as the Ag Expo).
So I'm making this petition to try and fight for The Grim Reaper Day. It would make a great impact on students and try to spread the word about making smart decisions. That's what SADD is all about; Students Against Destructive Decisions.
