We need to band together to show the governor of Florida that we need a complete overhaul of the correctional system in Florida. As members of the communities and the families of inmates, we want to be sure that the inmates are receiving the necessary items they need to be "rehabilitated" so that they can be productive members of society upon release. The term "correctional" leads us to believe that the inmates behaviors that lead to their incarceration are being "corrected" but in reality most of the "correctional" facilities in Florida offer little or no help. The inmate is then released into the community with the same mindset as when he/she went in. Sure the facilities offer "self-help" programs and Bible studies but those in themselves offer little for rehabilitation. If Florida is going to call these institutions correctional facilities then they need to be "correcting" the behavior that lead to the inmates incarceration...........
