Soledad O'Brien is the epitome of what the world should be. She is smart, beautiful, poised, professional, eclectic, intelligent, and a great educator in the area's of human rights, media, art, and culture.
At such a time as this, we are blessed to have Soledad's heart of gold, her never-ending work in search of the truth. As we have seen over the years, from Haiti to Sandy Hook, from Black in America to Latina In America, Soledad has continued to pull on the heart strings of society.
Soledad has a beautiful family, yet her quiet, yet commanding voice allows the viewer to feel as though you are related to her in some special way. She gives so much of herself through her craft, seldom showing the emotion that lives inside and may need to come out, especially after having worked a difficult story.
Her childhood birthed an individual that her family and the world is proud of. Although we are unable to speak to her daily, we feel as if she is sitting with us at the breakfast table... or when she is doing double-duty during a natural diasater, we feel as though we would like to reach out and give her a hug for pushing the journalistic envelope so that we are engaged minute by miinute.
Therefore, I ask you to please reconsider and to listen to those of us that have enjoyed Soledad's work. Yes, I do understand ratings, however, at the end of the day, Soledad gives her audience honest journalism. There is no value on that.
Thank you for your consideration. It would be a loss to CNN if Soledad's show is moved and/or if she leaves the network.
