- Too much confusion between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, one size does not fit all with either Diabetes.
- Too many places using the word "Diabetes" in generic form as a one size fits all to collect funds and to mis lead, mis inform and confuse the general public with a natural cure all, diet or excersise instead of spreading more awareness for the sudden onset and seperation of the two diseases. This includes the media, doctors, hospitals, schools, news, commercials such as glucernia, the manufacturers, the folks collecting funds for cure also.
- Not enough Awareness for sudden onset, DKA Type 1 Diabetes is found today anywhere and is very much needed in all schools with more children ages 5 years and younger getting sudden onset and DKA if surviving become insulin dependent for life with Type 1 Diabetes. DKA is life threatening and if not dealt with and if not aware of the signs and symptoms death can happen.
- So many young children died because of it already, no ones fault, it just happens. It can be mis diagnosed by doctors, medical staff, parents, schools, etc... we need more mandatory awareness everywhere to educate the educators, doctors, hospitals, schools and parents, everyone should be educated properly with the proper up to date info and between the two very different diseases. It needs to start with the BIG FOLKS that should be here for all of us and to support all of us parents, children and adults both young and the old. A seperation needs to be made and the GENERIC WORD "DIABETES" needs to be eliminated from all media, sites and places collecting funds or the caring or teaching of the health of both young and old.
- Type 1 Diabetes is a Auto Imune Disease and it is not caused by what one eats or drinks, what they do or don't do. Type 1 Diabetes is not preventable, The pancreas stops working and does not produce any insulin or not enough insulin. 80 percent of all T1D's are non genetic and environmentally triggered - it is seen more lately in 5 year old and younger. What is causing it? Why are they not stopping it? Why not enough awareness for sudden onset, DKA Type 1 Diabetes. It should not be classified or addressed as just (diabetes). Why always talk generic about statistics and using age groups such as 20 and under instead of pre teen or teen, young adult, adults, toddlers, infants, etc...
- If someone walks for CURE, the funds should go towards CURE 100 percent and not for management.
- If someone walks for management the funds should go towards management and not CURE.
- Let the people decide what they want to fund (cure or management) AND not to let the places decide that collects the funding such as JDRF or ADA or others where the funds should go, let the people decide so that accurate numbers can be justified, spread equally for the causes, audited and given towards the cause of cure or management from the proper kettle.
- To use the walk for cure title for funds only to give those funds to a management program such as the AP, is to mislead the public for cure and instead putting those funds into management, 100 percent of the funds collected for cure with the word for CURE, should be going towards cure.
If folks want management then they should do a walk for management instead of cure, a lot of funding is going towards management such as the Artificial Pancreas Program from the walk for cure programs, I feel too many folks are being mislead.
When there is a possible CURE, why is there no funding for it, example: such as the BCG vaccine? Why is there no funding by the govt. or any other places collecting funds for cure, why does Dr. Denise Faustman have to rely on public funds to go into phase 2 of human trials when her work has been proven to work and reverse Type 1 Diabetes and sounds very promising. I support the BCG and everyone else should too and to start to question why is it not being funded by anyone if it was proven to work and approved for phase 2 human trials by the FDA. I have my guesses but, anyways!.
- Too many question and not enough answers, we want answers for everything and we want to make change to this world for all of our children, their future and their children's future before its too late. Please help with your signature so we can get to the next level and get much needed answers by these folks and to start to make changes for everyone to have a healthier better life with appropriate and correct info, education and without misleading the general public or to more confuse with much generic mis information.
