December commencement should be reinstated because it is very important to the student body. Students who graduate in July or December do not want to wait 6-10 months to walk across the stage. Here are reasons why December commencement exercises shouldn't be cancelled:
- It is already planned for in the 2012-2013 bulletin (only applies to December 15, 2012 commencement)
- Our current gymnasium isn't large enough to hold 500+ graduates if it rains during May commencement.
- Those who graduate in July or December who aren't commuters will have to travel back to Jefferson City just to participate in commencement exercises. It's costly.
- Removing December commencement is not a cost-saving measure.
