Mark J. McCain, a William & Mary graduate, represents one of the winningest athletes in Oxon Hill’s history. In addition, he has developed a national reputation for the leadership and athletic development of young men and women. To compete in today’s athletic marketplace, the leadership in which the administration place’s its trust must be equipped with contemporary tools that can help our program to be competitive and attractive to student athletes, fans and the community. Having known McCain for the last 20+ years, I can attest, as can his vitae, to the fact that he has the technical athletic knowledge, experience, and drive and the resources to re-establish the program as an elite one.
McCain has long held an interest in helping to re-build Oxon Hill generally, and its athletics specifically. The athletic lore that lingers about “the program” harkens to the championship teams he led as a star running back and team captain. I’m certain his commitment to the program would include activating professional and personal resources.
Areas would include:
1. Fundraising
2. Sponsorship
3. Leadership Development
4. Athletic skills training
5. Winning
The school’s new construction development is a great start to creating the kind of academic pride that makes students, faculty and the community rally around a school. Having parallel standout athletics pushes the atmosphere to greater levels. You’ll agree with me that he’s the right man for this time in Oxon Hill’s history.
