I have an 11 year old son with Aspergers Sydrome . I have been trying to get an IEP for him since kindergarten, & he is now in the 5th grade. No one will help me. His teachers are constantly calling me , telling me how disrespectful my son is being, because he rocks & hums( Something he cannot help). The teachers do not know how to deal with him or teach him, so they just put him away from everyone else & isolate him. They say rude things to him, and give him no extra time for things even though they know his situation. I think people should sign this to make sure that all teachers & staff have to go through training to learn how to deal with students with Autism & Aspergers syndrome. I think it should be mandatory so that every child has the right to a decent education, without being outcasted & shunned. I would like to name this law if I can get it passed, Logans Law after my son , who amazes me everyday .
