Our Mission is to be a center fo the youth to help establish a secured future while helping to empowering individuality, along with togetherness to ensure a better future for our community and our youth. We will encourage the youth with individual projects with along team coorrdination as well as involvement with Small Businesses which is the Heart of America
Smooth Transitions Community Enhancement Center will provide the children with more activities needed to keep the kids of the street and in safe laces to ensure bright futures. Often times growing up in Michigan City many of the children feel as thoough there aren't many things to do wihtin the city limits. With many kids not having transportation to surrounding cities, like LaPorte, Valparasio, Chicago, and/or South Bend, where they have many of the things and events that are enjoyable for the your and the family like skating for example, With the closig of the YMCA in Michigan City , there is little left to do after school that is of value. Smooth Transitions Comunity Enhancement Center will provide a place that is more than a safe haven for the youth , it will also provide the kids with a feeling of accomplishment as well as a voice. Many of the adults today still say there is little to do in our cith today that the youth really like to do. With the Decreased atmosphere of the once popular Marquette Mall where many of us would spend our weekends there isn't much left t o but to throw parties that sometimes are not properly supervised, thus leaving the chidren to turn to other inapporpriately imitated things seen by other adults, or in /on or media devices such a television , radio and internet. We all can remember what it was like during that awkward time of life when you are no longer a child byt not yet n adult for this reason we believe that everyone will benefit from the Center because fo the unity it will bring.
