We, the undersigned, would like to recognize an amendment to rule 8 (II) in the Residence Guideline of Personal Conduct. We believe that the rule of having to sign a guest in 24 hours in advance is unnecessary and does not provide any further security to the building.
We believe that a more balanced approach of signing in and tracking guests, would allow for a more open and fun environment in residence as well a more secure one. As stated in the same guideline and rules students have the right to unrestricted access to their living accommodations and this does not seem to be the case.
We have all paid a lot to live in this residence,so lets all make it even better with a more honest and reasonable guest policy. Sign this petition today to help eliminate this overbearing rule.
