Petition requesting school transportation accommodations. We, the parents of Southwind area are concerned about the unsafe passage of our children. Shelby County School District(SCS)has implemented a new student transportation policy that places many children at risk by eliminating their bus services.
Sign this petition to let SCS know that you, too, are concerned about the elimination of bus services and the dangers that may occur as a result thereof. The parents of Southwind are requesting that SCS place an immediate amoritorium on the implementation of the new student trasportation plan.
SCS just notified parents via mail to arbitrarilty enforce a one mile walk zone rule for elementary school students, and a one half mile walk zone for middle and high school students. SCS has eliminated services for all those children entirely.
