During my last two years in high school we went through a "reconstitution" that was supposed to create positive change in the way our school was structured academically. To this day students still protest and question how exactly did/will these changes benefit them. Many of the changes included physical renewals to make the school look better, and while this can be important, the quality of education that these students are getting far outweighs the effects of a newly paved quad. My proposition is to bring attention to the Board of Education, of schools for minorities all across the country, that the changes they decide to implement on schools should not solely focus on “maintaining” of these schools. That they should acknowledge that constructive innovation in the classroom and in school college centers is vital in the quest to provide these students a more equal access to education.
