Dear Sharon Howell, Director of the Special Education in the North District. This petition is directed to you from Lokrantz Special Education Center parents and community around the schools request the following:
1) We want to oppose the integration of Lokrantz Special Education School with the other schools. We want Lokrantz to continue being and providing education for special ages 3-11 and to extend this education to special need kids until they are 22 years old since our school is equip & was founded more than 50 years ago for kids 3-22 years old. We the parents, support an inclusion of our children as they have been doing presently so that the district can meet the requirements of OCD7.
2) We want to remain the resources (I.e. playground, sports, etc) available to students with disabilities at Lokrantz Special Education School.
3)We want to be a part of All decisions that will affect Lokrantz Special Education as we asked from the beginning of this "integration process."
4) We want to have a parent meeting with you, the Representative Superintendent of North District and Principal at Lokrantz School to have our questions and concerns pertaining to the integration of Lokrantz and other schools answered with definite plan to back up the answers provided.
5) We also want to ensure that when attempting to integrate our special education needs children into any other school or program, the parents are informed in writing and the parents' permission be obtained beforehand.
We care about our future of our Lokrantz Special Education School students. the signatures collected are in support of the requests listed.
