Community Colleges: Support Student Parents!

The main thing that stops student parents from graduating from community college or going to a four-year university is not having access to childcare they can afford.

When student parents don't have childcare, they are often forced to drop out. Many student parents are low-income individuals, so they cannot afford to lose their child care grants or support in the form of childcare. This is crucial.

Unfortunately, federal funding set aside for child care has gone down. The Campus Child Care Access Means Parents in School or CCAMPIS program for example has gone from a $25 million appropriation to a $16 million appropriation in the last decade or so.

Please tell the US Department of Education to support student parents and help keep them in school.
