My entire life i've been an adovcate for gender equality through my titles as an assitance teacher, Miss Teen Haiti 2008 , domestic violence delgate ,Vice President of Emory Univeristy NAACP and volunteer Emort Staff . To advance this platform , I need your help.I have been selected as a finalist for the Intel for change contest.
If I can get enough votes, I will be able to go to Kenya this summer and
help raise awareness on the educational inequalities facing girls.

Imagine going through life day in day out knowing your tomorrow would not shine any brighter than the hardships of your yesterday. Sadly this is a reality for millions of girls around the world. Fighting for educational equality is important to me because it empowers girls to create a wonderful future for themselves and define their own lives. While on this trip, I hope to gain more insight on the daily barriers these girls face so that through my platforms at Emory, my surrounding community and our entire country, I can be an advocate for the advancement of their futures. Through awareness and advocating, I aspire to encourage others to join the cause and donate their time and effort to helping make access to education something they are passionate about.
In particular, I am especially interested in ensuring that families are encouraged to send their female children off to school. Often times, the cost of books, food and travel serve as barriers leaving struggling parents unable to bear the cost of educating their girls. Through donations of book supplies, funding for teachers and awareness about the importance of making education attainable to these girls, I aspire to help make a change! I am the right person for this program because I aspire to dedicate my life to this cause. I feel that it is my purpose to advocate for girls who feel that they have no voice .I would be honored to have the chance to represent them.
