I would like to take a moment and say a few words about one of the most influential people in my life. I was a gymnast for almost 15 years in Connersville and will never forget the leadership and strength that Joanne Borders has taught me. She is one of the strongest and most heartfelt coaches that this town and community has ever had. Her dedication to the gymnastics program and the school system for many years has been amazing! It has come to my attention that Joanne Borders was let go from the school system a little over a week ago. When I heard this it really broke my heart. This is the town I grew up in and I have always been proud of my hometown of Connersville. But I have to say, if this is the way we treat the people who have dedicated their lives to the community and the school system, it makes me very sad! I’m sending this out to all of you who have been so lucky to have had a chance to know and work with Joanne Borders to please sign this and pass it on! Let’s show our gratitude to this wonderful teacher and coach who has been a positive and wonderful influence in this community for so many years and show her the appreciation she so much deserves!
