Moving the Parking Lot Line that separates Staff Parking from Student Parking further up to eliminat

We have a proposition that we believe would greatly benefit our school community here at Mounds View. Currently in the parking lot, there is a distinct yellow line separating the available student parking from the available staff parking. We believe this is definitely a reasonable parameter. However, the line has been painted so far back in the lot that every day there are double-digit amounts of empty spaces in the staff lot. If the line was moved up just a couple rows, that would provide for 6 additional spaces per row for the students. There would be more parking permits available for students, and it would eliminate much of the hoopla that there is with students parking down the street at St. Johns, and more recently, by the tennis courts. We are sure you are aware of the safety hazards presented by these impromptu, on-the-road parking spots. Many students get turned down for parking permits each semester which prohibits them from being involved in any extracurriculars, and from getting after-school help on work that they do not understand. Moving the line would be very beneficial to our school and parking availability for students. Not to mention, more revenue would be brought in by the purchase of additional parking permits.
