People should sign this so that there are less dropouts in high school. We want to raise the dropout age to 19 instead of 17 and to stop ditching by making truancy laws alot less lenient and making them more harsh. By doing this, the government has to take action by law. People in Colorado will most likely support us and if we get enough signatures, the president might eventually support us also. To win their support, we will explain that if we raise the dropout age, most kids will start to realize that school is important and it is necessary to finish school. Teachers might oppose this action plan because they believe that if you don't take advantage of your education, then you might as well just dropout. We want to get as many signatures as possible so that people will start to realize that finishing school is important.
