To stop corruption in small town school systems! Stop the bullying and nepotism in schools!
This is what happened....please help Gabba!
My name is Heather Davison. My daughter, Gabrielle Davison, is a 7th grader at Washington School in Johnston City, Illinois. For the past several months my daughter has been bullied by two girls at the school. She has been called names, made fun of, and threatened. The threats have even went as far to be issued on behalf of one of the girls, by her parents. The school has done not...hing about the bullying thus far.
Yesterday my daughter was in the P.E. locker room joking with her friends. Her friends were making fun of her for being on her period. My daughter jokingly said to her friends "shut up or I'll cutchu".
The two girls that have been bullying her overheard this and went to the principal of the school and told them my daughter was "threatening people with razor blades".
The school then pulled my daughter from class, questioned her, searched her locker and her belongings. They found nothing. They then interviewed her friends. The friends then told the principal that they did not feel threatened and that they knew Gabrielle was joking.
During this whole time I was NOT contacted by any school officials pertaining to this situation.
This morning I contacted the principal of Washington School, Trevor Clark, and he informed me that yes they did search her,that they found nothing. Furthermore in his opinion none of the girls were to reprimanded since nothing had been found and that the girls in question of being threatened, did not feel threatened.
Later this morning the principal had a meeting with my siser, Ashley Kunkel,
and informed her that Gabrielle was not in trouble and that no disciplinary action was being taken against her. He then called my daughter, and the two girls that have been harrassing her into the office. From what my daughter says, the principal then told all 3 of them that none of them were in trouble and that the bullying needs to stop. That were no longer allowed to associate with each other school. My daughter was very upset and left with my sister.
Later this afternoon the prinicpal then contacted me again to let me know that the superintendent of the school board was pressing for suspension and possible expulsion due to gross misconduct.
At this time I would like to also inform you, that one of the girls that has been bullying my daughter, has a grandfather that is head of the school board in Johnston City.
When I spoke with the Trevor Clark, the principal, he informed me that in his opinion, suspension and possible expulsion was too extreme and that he needed to speak with the superintendent on the matter.
I then recieved an email from Trevor Clark that they have officially suspended my daughter and would be seeking expulsion. Here is the email as follows:
Ms. Davison
As I stated in our phone conversation this afternoon around 1:45 pm, I did talk to Superintendent Bambrick. Gabrielle will be suspended 10 days for the threat made towards other students. The board will have a hearing to discuss the possiblity of expulsion within those 10 days, and Gabrielle will have her due process at that time. You will receive notification of the date, time, and place of the hearing.

My daughter is a straight A student and never had any disciplinary action taken against her before this. In my opinion, the head of the school board, Randy Brymer, is using his weight against my daughter. Since his granddaughter is one of the girls that has been having issues with my daughter.
At this time I have set a up a consultation to seek legal advice on the matter, and plan to fight this blantant use of nepotism. I have contacted the parents of the children my daughter is friends with and they have admitted that their children did not feel threatened and that their children would testify on behalf of my daughter.
This whole situation has been grossly blown out of proportion on behalf of the school system. My daughter has done nothing wrong in my opinion, and the punishment they are seeking is way too harsh.
