Mr. LaClair and Mrs. Sellars have been recently excessed by the Board of Education for reasons undisclosed to us. This petition is to try to help them keep working at MacArthur. Mr. LaClair and Mrs. Sellars have been working at MacArthur for a combined 15 years, they have contributed much to the school, such as teaching the music classes in the school. Mr LaClair has been teaching Piano and Guitar classes, and Mrs Sellars has been teaching the Mixed Chorus, Music Theory and various Piano classes. Together both Mr. LaClair and Mrs. Sellars have inspired the hundreds of students that take their classes every year. We need to prove to the Board of Education that teachers shouldn't be judged on how long they have been teaching at the school for, but by how good they are at teaching and how much students like them. Mr. LaClair and Mrs. Sellars are the epitome of great teachers who truly inspire their students, and genuinely want to see them succeed at Music. These teachers have been wrongly excessed from MacArthur and deserve to stay here at MacArthur. This petition will be brought to the Board of Education at the next meeting (4/24), where myself and other students will be speaking in favor of Mr. LaClair and Mrs. Sellars. If you want your voice to be heard, come to the meeting and explain why these teachers shouldn't excessed. The next meeting is on 4/24 at 7:30pm at Levittown Memorial High School.
