Adelanto School District has been in the spotlight lately for the recent Parent Trigger Law take over at Desert Trails Elementary. As such the school is now closing to our district and the students are now displaced. The districts current solution is to bus the whole student population from this failing school to another school site. This is not a solution. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity, not a solution.
Concerned parents, staff, and students are asking the district redraw boundries to allow the Desert Trails students new homes at several closer school sites. Redrawing the boundries will allow for an equitable division of students and staff to several schools within the district rather than moving all the unchanged problems to a new site. Change is needed so we do not have the same issues that caused the take over. Change is needed!
