The Freeport Area School Board has taken the average number of homeroom teachers from the of 4 down to 3. Although the overall class in question is the smallest class at Buffalo Elementary, this has affected the students in a negative way. By doing this they have taken our children 's rights to a proper education away.

This small class has an overwhelming number of students with issues both medical and behavioral.

The students in question are struggling with their studies due to the lack of the teacher's time.

They have had more emotional issues due to the multiple number of students with issues in one class.

Some parents have had to hire private tutors.

The classes become out of control more easily because the students who need to be separated and cannot be with only 3 homerooms.

Many teachers and other staff members would agree that this class of students need to be split into 4 homerooms if it would not compromise their positions.

They tried this experiment this year and it has put our children's education in jeopardy.

Budget cuts are not a good enough excuse to put our children's education at risk. We pay our taxes to pay for our children's education at a "blue ribbon school", our children desereve that education.  If 1 teacher is cut from 1 grade, when will it stop? Eventually they will need to find the funds to retain the 4 homeroom teachers for all 6 grades, why can't it be done now?

We want the education our children are entitled to.
