In 2013 Bikes are healthy and safe and do not do damage property, save gas and are green economical fun and encourage people to exercise
The federal government, state, county, city,Via all promote safe bike commuting.
however the college district under their "no wheelies" on campus policy takes the opposite stand that students on bikes are not safe and have banned riding bicycyles to class on campus pathways, which are quite large sometimes used by maintenance vehicles, carts, car shows and campus security on bikes themselves !!! quite hypocritical !
This is a public community based college supported by taxes, student tuition and federal funds.
The policy makers have presented no statistics or data to show BIKES on these campuses do any damage. the fact is bikes are great for campus commuting !
the campus now offers student housing on campus and is in a downtown spacious area close to 3 other major Universitys and is populated by Artist, students and musicians but the alamo colleges bike ban policy stands
at this time students on bikes however are banned from riding on campus property and may receive an $11.00 ticket from the campus police, stopped and lectured not to ride on campus.
College students, artist and bikes go together
may is Bike month so lets promote these colleges to be Bike friendly !!
