Save Sex Education in Wisconsin

At the end of 2011, the Wisconsin Senate passed a bill that would repeal the Healthy Youth Act, which requires comprehensive sexual education. A companion bill, A.B. 337, is currently making its way through the Wisconsin Assembly, and is expected to pass and to be signed into law by Governor Scott Walker.

A.B. 337 would outlaw discussion of puberty, pregnancy, parenting, body image, gender stereotypes, and the health benefits and proper use of contraceptives. By removing comprehensive sex education, the bill seeks to move the state to abstinence-only education, which has been repeatedly proven ineffective at preventing teenage pregnancy and reducing the spread of sexually transmitted infections.

Act now to tell the Wisconsin Assembly and Governor Scott Walker to reject A.B. 337, a bill that would result in tremendous harm to Wisconsin youth.
