Respect Scottsdale Students and Schools!
-We insist on efficient spending of available funds
-SUSD has the largest District Staff and admin budget in the area, while spending less than 58% of our dollars in the classtoom
-SUSD wants to cut additional classroom spending while again, protecting District jobs
Put the money back in the classrooms!
Respect our Students, Our Classrooms and our Teachers!
We will no longer tolerate cuts to our classrooms or schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District.
With the current proposed budget cuts (a mandated reduction of spending by $6.8 million to $9.8 million) we will lose many important facets of our children’s education.
Specials including: Music, Art, PE and Library, will be dramatically reduced. We will lose school nurses, assistant principals and other invaluable positions at our schools.
SUSD classroom spending, per student, ranks in the lowest 10% of the nation
SUSD has a significantly higher ration of Admin and District Staff to student enrollment than other Districts in the area. Paradise Valley, Chandler as well as others, operate with 30-60% lower rations of Admin and District Staff to students than SUSD.
SUSD District Staff has increased from 144 persons in 2001 to 254 persons in 2012. An 76% increase in staff size while in the same time period the number of schools operated, dropped 6% and the number of students enrolled declined 3.25%
