As a parent of three children that have and are still attending Honiton community college I am astounded of the ridiculous rules that are forced on us and our children by overzealous teachers e.g I have had freinds that have had their childs hair cut and been told they must change it or be excluded people that have had the wrong shoes athough they were black shoes bought from shop the school recomend,A child that has had high lights in her hair and told she must dye it back or else and one of my favorites was they weren't allowed to wear their outside coats in a cold class room because it was not school uniform.
My own experience latest one there have been others is as a reward for another good school report from my daughter we allowed her to have somthing done with her hair she chose to have it dip dyed.
The school does say no colours other than natural hair colours are not permitted so we let her have it done in blonde (a natural colour) as she is dark blonde the school is now saying if she does not change it she will be put into isolation....this was only told to her (do it or else) no letter home nothing.
I agree our children should be dressed in a manner suitable for College but they are indviduals and should be able to express that, I don't mean blue hair or a
Mohican but within reason they should be able to have what they want.
