Our children are in danger and their Principal is to blame! Not only has Ms.Williams not upheld policies currently in place in order to protect our children, such as checking ID's of those picking up children, but the new rules and policies recently put in place by Ms.Williams are putting our children in harms way. Ms.Williams has said that these new policies are to protect our children when they do not. These new policies also have no backing, Ms.Williams has not notified us of any instances that warrant these changes.
Ms.Williams is not allowing our children to be walked to, or picked up from their classrooms by parents. This poses a safety issue. Mary McArthur is an open campus surrounded by a gate with many access points, letting our young children walk around alone on campus is not safe. Did you know that in just a 1 mile radius of Mary McArthur there are currently 16 registered sex offenders? Of which 13 committed offenses against minors (6 committed acts on children between the ages of 0-10 years) and 3 of which live in the neighborhood that lines the back fence of Mary McArthur.
I do not feel safe allowing my elementary age children to walk by themselves from my vehicle to their classroom. I feel like this policy does not better ensure the safety of my children, I feel like it was put in place for reasons unknown and that my children are being put in harms way. If you feel like you should reserve the right to walk your child to and/or pick your child up from his/her classroom to ensure that your child arrives to the right destination safely then please sign this petition.
