As the parent of a child with ADD, I cannot believe all 10th graders are required to take Geometry, regardless if they struggle with math or not. Can't the state of Michigan revise the standards for Math. Certainly "let no child be left behind act" cannot be the key, when we are mandating our children to take a course that only a handful of careers require. I have spoke to Math tachers and Principles and they do not agree with these current requirements. Couldn't they could be offered a different type of math and thus..Prosper. Tell me State of Michigan Board of Education...how can failing a child, because they can't keep up, with your policies, good for forming confident young adults. Please revise the graduation requirements, within reason. Certainly the ADA would more than likely agree.
