This petition calls on Peterborough City council to stop the abolition of the Peterborough Play Service and keep the Play centres open to all 5-14 year olds in the community.
Peterborough can be proud of this service that works with children and families in some of the most disadvantaged area of our city. Our play centres were open 5 days a week (including Saturdays) run by qualified Playworkers. The proposal is to now scrap them after two years of underinvestment has reduced the service to just once or twice a week. We say no more!
Play is misunderstood and not just about children having fun but it is a platform through which children can develop safely and families can receive support. It is has vital role to play in the councils objectives to support programmes in early intervention and prevention. Please sign in support below.
