This year, Union 1181 has led their colleagues on strike for a guarantee of their employment For yellow school bus drivers. No jobs can be guaranteed otherwise many organizations would go on strike. The strike has been legalized and colleagues from Boston have joined the strike and it doesn't seem as it is going to end yet. These individuals have forgotten a few things beginning with the CHILDREN!!! Many families are struggling with taking their kids to school because they have work or have other children to care for and depend on transportation to pick up their children.
Because of all this, children with special needs are missing out on services such as physical therapy, speech therapy and falling behind. I thought this state had the "No Child Left Behind Act." I'm tired of seeing parents having to miss days of work and having to wake up early to take their kids to school just so they can get to work to earn a living to feed their families. Sign this petition to submit to Mayor Bloomberg so he can put an end to all of this! Every child has the right to learn, interact with the other kids and receive the services they need!! Please help put this to an end!!
