Opposition to Proposed Curriculum Change

The UBC EECE department is planning on changing the curriculum for ALL UNDERGRADUATE courses. They are thinking of removing lab and project courses such as EECE 280, 352, 359, 360, 459 and the list goes on... (please find the full list in the proposal attached) and tacking on more theory courses. Courses like EECE 259 will be 5 credits, CPSC 259 will be 4 credits... As a result, the credits per course will increase, The WHOLE curriculum will change. Indirectly, this is an increase in tuition by 10-15%, and more importantly, increase in our course load. What is unfair is that students do not know about this, as this is all behind the scenes. Please take a stand, and sign this petition. We need to get as many signatures as possible BEFORE their next meeting, next Tuesday.
