As our student demographic ages and seasons allow, students will be walking to and from our school, Tecumseh Vista Academy. As Banwell is currently a through-road for all local commuters, it is extremely busy during rush hours morning and evening. There are currently no sidewalks, but steeply dangerous ditches and no reduced speed. In addition, any pedestrian or biker would also be crossing a train track with no safety path. What were we thinking to open a brand new school and not have these safety measures implemented before opening our doors to students, parents, staff, caregivers, administrators, etc.?
