People should sign my petition because in Tewksbury, MA, Semi-formals have been a tradition for years. The principal told us that he would discuss this change with us. The change he made was that our End-of-the-year Semi-formal would be changed to a "Tie-Dye Dance." These are things that students have looked forward to for years, I know I have. So yes, I am an 8th Grade student. But I am a human being and I have the basic right to voice my opinion, correct? Not only did the principal not listen to what anyone had to say about the matter, he formed a dictatorship. Anyone in the United States would know that we live under a democracy. He formed a dictatorship, yet he wants us to learn that Dictatorships are wrong? What a great example he is setting, huh? Please help me bring back our tradition.
