Like many of you I grew up reciting the pledge & I was disappointed to hear that schools in Springfield don't require recital of the pledge of allegiance anymore. We live in a great country, were we have so many rights; a little patriotism does not hurt anyone. In fact it might bring us together. In 2008 the pledge the Supreme Court upheld the right of certain religious groups not to have to say the pledge, which included our public schools. I feel our children who are our future should have the right to decide for themselves if they would like to recite the Plege of Allegiance.
