Substitutes should sign to claim their equal rights as certified teachers and to gain respect as teachers.
For too long subs have been treated as second-class workers and as lesser teachers, but subs are equal and even superior in education, experience, status and pay as regular teachers and should be treated as such.
There is a Substitute Union formed now, SAFE, standing for Substitute Association for Fairness in Employment. We have a Constitution and Bill of Rights and we are claiming our lawful rights and demanding respect as fellow teachers. The address of the movement is subpowerr@yahoo.com
Subs unite! Aloha.
