We strongly believe that Kankakee Valley High School would be doing a great disservice to the current and future student athletes at KV High School by not keeping Rick Ashmore on as the Head coach of the Girls Varsity Volleyball team.
As with previous years Rick Ashmore’s coaching position at Kankakee Valley High School at this point in time is up for grabs. Rick Ashmore has been coaching at KV High School for a number of years, yet year after year the Athletic Department informs him at the end of the season that they are currently not considering him for the following season.
Coach Ashmore’s influence on the volleyball players in unmatched, and we feel it would be a terrible mistake to let the feelings of a few people jeopardize not only the reputation of one of the best volleyball coaches in the area, but also jeopardize the futures of the Kankakee Valley High School volleyball players.
We respectfully request that the administration of KV High School rescind their decision to not bring back Rick Ashmore and immediately recommend him as head coach of the KV Girls Varsity Volleyball team for next season.
