My name is Andrea Wells. I am a resident in Livia/Utica area. I started a petition today to get metal detectors put at main entrance at schools with a proper official there to man it. In my petition, ALL people, staff, parents, etc have to be checked at entry. Detector needs to be outside main door before anyone can get in. One entry only for every one. I am sorry but if offices and hospitals can
do this, so can the schools. I have local businesses already agreeing as of tonight to allow me to put petition in their establishments. Also not only will there be paper petitions, Facebook will also have people signing this electronically. Its past due and needed to be done long ago. What happened to all of the people in Connecticut and what has happened at other schools could have maybe been avoided with extensive measures of precaution and I intend to make sure all precautions necessary are taken to avoid this horrific scenario to the best of all of our measures from happening in our area. This is my intention to get this passed and I will make sure this takes place as soon as possible.
