There is an enormus deficit in the speech of most American speakers of English. Poor articulation, poor diction, poor rythm and deficiency on intonation patterns in the speech of speakers of America English. It is impossible to understand recorded telephone messages and the same when speaking on the telephone with a live person. Most messages cannot be understood. Make speech a requirement for graduation at all levels of education.
