EMCC Nursing Class of 2014; 2nd semester schedule

The spring semester of the 1st year nursing class will be starting on Jan 14th; currently we are scheduled to attend class 3 days/week and clinical 2 days/week.  The following students would like to respectfully ask that this schedule be reconsidered.  Having to be at class or clinical 5 days/week will negatively affect our ability to cope with the stress of the semester for the following reasons: 

  * For many students this will mean adding an additional long distance drive to their week, as well as the extra expense of the gas for this additional trip. 

  *For those students who are working this will further limit our available hours and decrease our income.

 *Childcare is also an issue for many.  We would like to go to a Mon/Tues or Mon/Wed 3 hour class schedule and understand that there is a lot of information to absorb during that time; we are willing to expend the extra effort that may be necessary if we can condense class to 2 days instead of 3.
