Laura Dekker (and her parents) should be congratulated on her 2 year circumnavigation of the world, not criticised. Whilst it may seem a very young age at which to have undertaken such a feat and put her "normal" education on hold, in the past we have seen people undertake extraordinary feats of physical or intellectual endurance. 9-year-olds have gone to Oxbridge to study Mathematics. Margot Fonteyn was a principal ballerina at 15-years-old. It does not seem to have done them any harm. So would the jealous kindly stop carping.
