Hmong refugees need a stronger education. Many are not getting high school diplomas, which hinders them from getting jobs and, ultimately, financial security. According to Jennifer Yao from the Migration Policy Institute, Minnesota houses one third of the United States' Hmong population. They need an efficient education system so they can join America's workforce. Hmong refugees should learn school subjects in their home language, then learn English as their second language. They should also be offered homeschooling, since their culture encourages women to stay home and care for their young children. We plan to contact Mark Dayton, Minnesota's governor, when we reach our goal of 10,000 signatures. Change the lives of over 60,000 Hmong-Minnesotans by signing your name!
