Australian Concert Woe's

Dear Modest Management.

There are matters of issues arising in Australia that need to be put into writing for you to see and act upon because in all honesty, we here are getting ripped off to the bone....

Starting with one directions first visit to Australia. How considerate, 3 shows in 3 cities on 1 side of the country, in 1 week. Fair for all. If all you care about is the money, why didn’t you schedule a longer, proper tour? You would of earned millions if you visited each city and did a show.

Second of all, we appreciated the way you treated the boys whilst they were in Australia, like little babies who you couldn’t let off a leash. They couldn’t walk through an airport in Australia however you can let them walk through airports in London, L.A and New York. So, explain how this works if those cities have a larger population than the whole of Australia?

Thirdly, ticket pricing. It is ridiculous how much you are making fans pay here in Australia for less than what is being offered in other places, for example the lovely country of America, aka your second home. In Australia, we pay $400 for a sound check ticket in which we receive

• A reserved seat in the front 10 rows of the concert
• Souvenir 1D card on lanyard
• Event program
• Exclusive access to Arena for pre-show sound check
• Light refreshments served following the sound check

Whilst in your favourite country America, they pay $350 for

• One reserved ticket in first 10 rows
• Meet and greet & individual photo with one direction
• Visit to one direction sound check
• Ultimate VIP commemorative laminate
• Specially designed one direction tour shirt
• Collectible one direction tour poster
• Exclusive one direction gift bag
• Early entrance into venue
• Crowd free merchandise shopping
• On site VIP hosts

Please, in 25 words or less, explain how in God’s name is this fair? We in Australia are paying $50 MORE than what American pay and we still can’t meet the boys. What’s the harm in adding a meet and greet to our ticket? We’re not going to give them a disease only native to Australians.

And now just when we thought nothing could get better, you tell everyone in Australia to make a massive ‘announcement’ just to tell us that you’ve pushed back the tour. Oh how bloody fantastic, because we haven’t waited long enough to see the boys. And why we say? Scheduling conflicts you say, aka you need to please America before you make the long and painful trip to us others in Australia. Thanks for all the love, scheduling concerts to conflict with majority of your fans base school lives and ruining peoples traveling plans (Especially fans who live on the island of Tasmania, but you wouldn’t know that you only study American geography). Oh and apologise to Niall too, he can’t legally drink on his birthday if he’s spending it in America.

This letter is basically to inform you all the issues that you’ve caused in Australia and how we are being treated like dogs compared to America. Australia has received shit all from one direction this year. Ever since they cracked America, you’ve lost interest in us. We vote for you, buy albums for you, buy tickets for you and we don’t even get a thank you anymore. Not one of the boys or the main twitter account thanked Australia for being the first international country to get up all night to number one AND being the first country to get take me home to number one.

All we want is to be APPRECIATED for doing all these things. We want to be noticed as a country, we are sick of the limelight being on America. The boys spend more time there than they do in their own country. We want “thank you Australia for all your efforts” we want meet and greets for our country, we want signings, we want something that shows how much you guys want to thank us for all we do for you. We don’t need 21 concerts as a thankyou, honestly 8 concerts in 1 city is ridiculously stupid.

All we ask for is 2 hours of the boys time, where they sit on a table and sign things for us fans, talk to us, hug us, thank us for everything we do for them. It’s not that hard to organize a signing for us. And not just in Sydney or Melbourne, In Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane also.

You don’t understand how much it angers us that whilst the boys are here, they have zero interaction with fans. All everyone wants is to meet their idols. I know it’s unrealistic for everyone too meet the boys, but give us a chance at least. Meet and greets in every city, just let us be close to them and them close to us. We don’t bite, but the koalas do.

Regards from every Australian fan.
