The parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children attending ISAAC TRIPP ELEMENTRY SCHOOL wish to petition the SCRANTON SCHOOL BOARD for immediate corrective action this 13th day of November 2012 regarding the issue of access to deliver or pickup children attending this school. The issue of convenient access is important to maintain a safe and healthy environment while delivering and picking up attending students at the school. The current situation creates excessive stress by requiring a walk up a long hill and the need to park in a neighborhood environment not designed for such an influx of traffic. Because of the actions of the Scranton School Board this issue worsens daily and continues to plague our school community. The lack of immediate corrective action will jeopardize the health and safety of the petitioners greater as the weather worsens.
The petitioners wish to offer possible corrective action, make a gravel parking area in the fenced in lot adjacent to the north side of the building, open the emergency access road or both.
