Keep the Special Education Program at Ken-O-Sha

The Board has come up with a "Plan" for "all" students that the current possible school closings affect.  They have no plan nor will they elaborate on what will happen to the program currently in place. These kids need this program in place.  They thrive at Ken-O-Sha! The current school districts that surround Grand Rapids (Rockford, Wyoming, Hudsonville, Kentwood, etc...) cannot accomadate the needs of the special education children currently enrolled at Ken-O-Sha.  They will get lost in the system and not get the appropriate medical attention while at school, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational thereapy, and unique learning system in place in the General Education schools.  We need to keep this program going!

Read the plan for yourself and decide. The Superintendant of Schools said herself in her letter to GRPS Parents "Every child we serve has unlimited potential to learn, and as yoru superintendent, it's my job to make sure EVERY child in our district has equal access to high quality schools with great prinipals, great teachers, and a positive culture for teaching and learning."  If they "dissolve" this program, these children will be "excluded" from this  equal access for all.
