Working until 7pm is a waste of resourses. Those of us that work this shift can attest to the fact that we hardly see any students from 5pm to 7pm. It truly is a waste of our time. If you were to check the Qnomy records to actually see how many individuals sign in during this time you would see that it is very few.
We do agree that working later during peak time is exceptable however staying open until 7pm for the entire semester is truly a waste of our time. Due to technology and students being able to do many things on their My Pima there is no valid reason for us to be open evenings.
We have seen several changes at PCC and one of them is the hours we work. We used to work 8:15am to 4:45pm, Monday through Friday. Evening hours were slowly added by one campus staying open late during the week, not all. Eventually all campuses stayed open until 7pm then Saturdays were added. All campuses were open from 8am-1pm and not many individuals would come in and hardly any were seen early. Eventually the Saturday hours were reduced to just two campuses being open. The last Saturday I worked we didn't see anyone until 11am and I have heard others state practically the same thing. It is time to make more changes. If these changes can be made then certainly changing the evening hours again should not be a problem.
It is time to consider the employees and listen to what they have to say about this issue. It is time to have the entire campus closed at 5pm
