Miss. Shay (Shaquante) Johnson was involved in an altercation with a fellow male student who struck her. The male student was not suspended nor did he receive any disciplinary action against him. The policy handbook states; First offense is a five day suspension, however Miss. Johnson was kicked out of school for defending herself and issued a letter stating she would have to seek alternative learning.
We hope that the administration will reconsider their egregious decision; lets show the administration that discrimination against policy and females will not be tolerated.
Miss Shay Johnson should be immediately reinstated back to school. We demand that the actions taken by Woodbridge Senior High School be reversed, and that all those involved in this unjust suspension reconsider. The consequences of the school boards decision is a direct violation of school policy, sexism, discrimination and an abuse of authority.
