Pleasant View City is looking at rezoning a parcel of land located between 2550 N. and 2700 N. into a multi-family unit. This significantly impact the students at Majestic Elementary, as well as residents in Harrisville and Pleasant View.
Majestic Elementary is already filled beyond capacity. At the beginning of this year Majestic was even short textbooks and classrooms to meet the needs of the students. The school already services many multi-family communities including those surrounding North Shore Aquatic Center, the multi-family unit located east of the elementary school, and the multi-family unit located North of Orion Jr. High. With the school on 2550 N. this will also impact the traffic on that road which is also a concern to the students of Majestic Elementary and Montessori Elementary. The road is already a concern with the lack of sidewalks, lack of crosswalks, lack of school zone signs, and dangerous driving conditions considering the quality (or lack of quality) of the road.
Harrisville and Pleasant View will be directly impacted by the rezoning. House values will drop and crime will most like affect the areas directly north of 2700 N. and south of 2550 N. We ask you to reconsider the plan and keep in mind the citizens of the community and schools.
